Matilda, born in 1996 in Stockholm, is a singer, improviser and songwriter who has established herself on Sweden's music scene in recent years. Her artistry is characterized by a distinctive sound that combines narrative lyrics, complex timbres and playful melodies. With inspiration from a multitude of influences, everything from Joni Mitchell and Björk to Cecile McLorin Salvant and Roy Hargrove. Matilda's lyrics take the listener on a journey through different stories, about growing up, facing opposition, love or anger. Her compositions navigate between contrasts such as vulnerability and restoration or friction and flow. By letting jazz and alternative pop meet and work together, Matilda creates a suggestive and dreamy sound world. The band, which consists of Matilda Schyborger - vocals, Mattias Olofsson - guitar, Amanda Karström - bass and Edvin Glänte - drums. Has in recent years appeared on various music scenes around Sweden and Norway.
